Looking back, 2012 on camera

Following is my year in review, 2012 caught on camera. I took some of them during my Seasonal Photo Challenge. Some, outside of that box’s contents, just because.

And, while going through my pics from last year to choose only 12 for this blog post, I noticed: 2012 wasn’t all that bad.
If 2013 ends up being only half as good, it’ll still be awesome!

In need of a breath – by Estrella Azul

It never stops;

the hardship, the sadness.

They never stop;

the tears, the disappointments.

I wish they would stop.

I wish it would all just stop;

Just long enough to take a breath.

Thoughts from places…

… because those Vlogbrothers video titles are awesome and they are always my favorite of their videos.

Here are my thoughts from places, while on hiatus these past few weeks. ( Missed you guys! <3 )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am completely fine with having to reorganize my suitcase several times before leaving, both home and the places I visited, because I packed too many books.
~~~~~

Everywhere I go, I see hearts. And everywhere I go, I see something I can turn into art.

~~~~~
People who disagree with you and correct you every step of the way, even if they are actually adding to the conversation, are so tiring.
~~~~~

Life and death are so intertwined; just like each and every moment in between.

Death has a way of catching up with you when you’d rather try and recover from a loss… But if there is such a thing as a beautiful death, it must be that of simply falling asleep and dying of old age.

Funerals are for the living. And when you miss a burial, you can’t help but feel that loss just a bit more painfully every single time the subject comes up.

Thinking of Connie’s Sky, I took pictures that day. And though I’m so many miles away, and was very far even from an internet connection – I felt so very human and so connected to Connie Hozvicka, to Jill and to Judy. I think it’s within human nature to forget this sometimes, but we do hold each other’s hearts in our hands.

~~~~~
Annie Q. Syed said in one of her Still Sundays posts, which I managed to read while on hiatus, that: “in stillness I am reminded life changes course in the small plans that may appear magnified because there is no map.”
I fully understand that. And would like to add, that, sometimes even with a map it’s possible to lose track of our journey and spend too much time in paper towns.
~~~~~

I left behind a love letter in one of the passenger cars of the steam train we rode in. Because there is magic in everything. IMG_6962-1

~~~~~
Balance. Not easily found. Not easily kept. I’m still searching for it. For just the right balance that I need. I finally feel like I’m on the right track.
Can you understand… – by Estrella Azul
Can you understand that I need my space?
To breathe, to unwind, to just be. To be me.
Can you understand that your constant concern and reproach bring me down?
That you make me feel guilty about taking time for myself. That it’s affecting our relationship.
Can you understand that I worry, too?
That instability is throwing me off track. That it makes me feel insecure.
Can you understand that I feel stuck?
That I sometimes don’t see the beauty people talk about seeing in me. That my soul is searching for something I can’t find right now.
Can you understand that some decisions just have to be mine?
About me. No matter how much a part of my life you are.
Can you understand that I love you?
That I want to keep loving you. That I don’t want to fight.
But for that, I need you to understand me.
No questions asked. No banter. No undermining my needs.
Love Lettering My World & a Summer of Love (Letters)
Last weekend, as I left the last two love letters from my month of love lettering my world, I was feeling a bit down, knowing the month is coming to an end. But then quickly realized, that doesn’t mean love lettering will come to an end!
You can take a look at and read my love letters in my guest post on MoreLoveLetters.com. (link will be available shortly)
You can also find them in this Facebook album, and below is the list of places where I’ve left them behind.
- In a restaurant
- In a book on Writing
June 2012 - Love Letters Left Behind
~~~

During this month of love lettering my world, I translated some of my love letters to either Romanian or Hungarian. So I have "leftover" photos. Here are my favorites.

leftover 1 park – Love letter left behind at the park.
It was election weekend and I received this carnation. Decided to leave that behind with my love letter.

leftover 2 garage – On someone’s garage door

leftover 3 brick wall – On a brick wall

~~~
I also have to admit that I got really excited about the Summer of Love Letters the MoreLoveLetters team has put together. So far, here’s what I’ve covered from the Summer of Love (Letters) list .
Hope you all have a fabulous, love-filled Friday!
PS: Can’t view my photos on Facebook? We should be friends there as well ;)
Love Lettering My World – Week Four
While June is coming to a close over the weekend, I can hardly believe this is already the fourth week of my personal goal of leaving love letters behind every single day.
It has been so much fun, such a wonderful feeling to notice my love letters have disappeared from where I’ve left them. I didn’t stick around to see who picked them up.
However, that time I left a love letter on a bus seat, I couldn’t help but notice someone finding it. She got on the bus as I was getting off to switch lines, and headed straight for my seat. It was an interesting feeling to see her look down on the seat, take the love letter, sit down and start reading. That’s all I saw as the bus left the station.
Like I said before, I can only hope my love letters found their way into the hands of people who needed the most to read them. And because I believe that what we put out into the world has a way of coming back to us – I have a feeling they did just that.
You can take a look at and read my love letters in my guest post on MoreLoveLetters.com.
You can also find them in this Facebook album, and below is the list of places where I’ve left them behind.
- In St. Michael’s Church
- On a bust statue (Octavian Goga’s, in the park)
- In the grass next to a memorial plaque (for the Equestrian Statue of King Mathias)
- In a bunch of flowers at the farmers market
- Among someone’s shopping items
- In a childhood place, elementary school
- On a brick wall
Hope you all have a fabulous, love-filled Friday!
