Homemade Hand and Foot Cream

First, as a quick recap, so far I’ve homemade my own:

No-poo shampoo

Exfoliating body scrub

Facial masks and facial scrub

and Lip Balm.

Last time when I posted the homemade Lip Balm recipe I set my goal to try making moisturizing foot cream next.

As I searched for recipes I saw all these different recipes for hand creams and separately for foot creams, while there were differences between their ingredients, there weren’t many.

So after reading lots and lots of recipes, here’s a good, moisturizing hand and foot cream recipe I made up.

2 in 1 Hand & Foot Cream

4 Tbls Bees Wax
4 Tbls Olive Oil (or Coconut, Avocado, Almond, Grape seed, etc. oil)
1 Tbls Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly)
3 Tbls Baby oil
3 Tbls Glycerin
10-12 drops of Essential oil(s) for scent
Old cream recipients with a lid

With the Bain-Marie technique melt together the ingredients and mix them well.
After they’re all very well mixed let on heat for about 10 minutes.
Stir again very well and pour your concoction into recycled recipients. Let them cool before placing the lid.

You can use the cream on your hands and feet after about a day.

It’s done in a maximum of 20 minutes, it has a different consistency than commercialized creams, but you also have to use less since it’s much more concentrated.

Best to us before bed since at night there’s a higher chance of the cream staying on your hands and feet (it’s also a great idea to put on a pair of socks and maybe gloves so your cream will surely stay on and act during the whole night).

Made it especially for my fiancé, and we both find it very effective and inexpensive. It makes your hands and feet soft and helps the skin renewal process without having in it a huge mixture of chemicals. You can also use it on your elbows and knees too.

It’s definitely added as one more product to my list of homemade Christmas presents to come ;)

If you know any hand and foot cream (2 in one or separately) recipes you’d like to share, feel free to so do in the comment thread.
