Star of all time – by Estrella Azul

Her eighty three year old hand shook as she popped in "Some like it hot" just for the company. She sat by the window and watched it rain.

A tear traveled from her eye down her beautiful wrinkled face landing on her once blonde hair.

The movie lines reminded her of the past.

Of her past life, her husband, their life together. Somehow she didn’t recall all the fighting while they were married, but could clearly see in her mind’s eye all the wonderful moments they had spent together after he rescued her that summer of 1962.

He knew it would mean hiding the truth for the rest of his life, leading a double life just to keep her safe, putting up with investigation, reporters, paparazzi, conspiracy theories and much more.

But he was fine with it.

He was happy to be with the only woman he ever really loved, fortunate he got the chance to be the husband he should’ve been all along, leaving behind jealousy and misunderstandings.

Even now, years after his death she still missed him.

Some days were harder than others but in the end one thought, one sentence that she could vividly recall had the power to keep her going.

Until now.

She closed her eyes and saw Joe smiling at her, he held out his arms to her and said:

“ It’s okay star of my life, we will be together forever now. I love you Marilyn!”
